Saving time, Saving Lives.

When digital technology saves time in the often-frantic life of a medical professional – that’s a practical, real life communication advance, as devised by one of the finalists in Innovation Point’s Digital 2016 event.

Bangor-based Elidir Health, one of Digital 2016’s Digital Dozen, has created a solution to simplify critical information flow in what is all too often a complex, paper-based, time-sapping health care system. “Basically, we simply wanted to make nurses’ lives better” explains Dyfan Searell, Elidir Health’s CEO. ‘By helping health-care professionals to communicate efficiently and effectively, our technology ultimately frees them to spend more time with patients in direct value-adding care.’

Innovation Point organises leading technology event Digital 2016, taking place in June 2016. The ‘Digital Dozen’ represents ‘a diverse mix of companies that are making an impact on the UK’s economy through ground-breaking uses of technology and all things digital.’

‘It’s great to be chosen as one of the Digital Dozen as there’s tough competition from great technology companies across Wales,’ adds Dyfan. ‘We appreciate the chance to showcase CHAI™, a flexible Electronic Health Record with an interface optimized for mobile devices.

CHAI™’s (Connected Healthcare Administrative Interface) human-friendly mobile optimised interface allows any form or assessment tool to be digitised using our ‘smart’ form technology. Smart forms import information from other systems in real time, automate time consuming manual calculations e.g. early warning scores and share patient centric alerts. From initial observations CHAI™’s laboratory results notification system alone is expected to potentially save over 25 minutes per shift per nurse. CHAI™ also provides essential accountability via an easy to use audit log.

Digital 2016 takes place in June 2016. All 12 companies will be invited to attend Digital 2016 on June 6/7 at Celtic Manor Resort near Newport, Wales.
